Our Story

Journey to Restoration

How one family's hardest season became a sanctuary for carers.

My Story

My name is Evah.

In January 2017, a life-changing incident left me with a permanent disability.

In September 2025, my son was in an accident. After surgeries, he needed home care. We couldn't afford professional carers, so it was us — the family. Each day became strenuous. The siblings and I were overwhelmed. Emotions were high. There was fear.

I will never forget the pain of hearing him call for help, and no one could come immediately — because we were trying to rest for just a moment.

Months later, my son was healed. But I could still sense the trauma. Counseling alone was not enough. That's when I realized: sometimes a person just needs to get away. To go to a place with no timetable. For a few days, just to be you again.

After all has been done and said… who cares for the carer?

I have personally cared for mentally challenged persons as well and I understand how vulnerable they are and how emotionally draining it is to care for them. If you haven't been through it, you will not understand. I have been there on different angles.

The idea is to help them unwind, create beautiful memories, and take home souvenirs to remind them: the universe cares for them too.

Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To create a sanctuary rooted in Zimbabwean values of the Kumusha concept where caregivers and disabled individuals get rest for body, mind, and spirit, healing, and remembrance in the peace of kumusha.

Our Vision

A world where rest is not a luxury but a right for carers so they keep caring from a place of wholeness.
